Earth Rangers is the kids’ conservation organization, dedicated to educating children and their families about biodiversity, inspiring them to adopt sustainable behaviours, and empowering them to become directly involved in protecting animals and their habitats.

They had a cafeteria, but it was expensive.

Over the last ten years and prior to COVID-19, they had a cafeteria on-site, however, it was very expensive and it wasn’t very good. Also, the closest food options were a 10-minute drive away, which takes time away from employees enjoying lunch together. So, throughout the years, they’ve been looking for a solution to replace the cafeteria, but nothing really stood out until they discovered KitchenMate through a Google search.

They want a solution that offers delicious food that’s affordable, and that will encourage employees to spend more time together on-site.

Tailored Approach

For their staff of fifty, we proposed installing one GEN2 kiosk with 60% hot meal and 40% cold food options, including salads and fresh juices. This would provide a variety of nutritious meal options throughout the day at a price range of $3-12. Not only will their staff have fresh food that’s more affordable than nearby options, but they’ll get to spend more time together as a team on-site.

Installation

As Earth Rangers shares the building with the Toronto Regional Conservation Area, we installed the GEN2 kiosk in their main lobby for easy access to both teams.

Program Success

Since their launch date, they are averaging 60 meals per week as a team, and their employee engagement has increased through staff spending more time together on-site during lunch.
